That's how you do it to win the race.
Congratulations, Olav Lundanes!
Timo Sild third at the finish, can it be TOP 10 at the end?
Daehli and Hertner went in mistake, but, returned quite fast. But, seconds, seconds....
Magne Daehli finishing strong, 4th at TV 2 ...
That was interesting route... did not see that for anyone else...
Tranchand with some S shape route...
Ruslan Glibov at finish - could it be TOP3 result at finish? Hertner and Daehli passing arena.
Meanwhile - Jubelis at finish. Arena going crazy.
Timo Sild going strong - 8th at the arena passage at this moment. Olav Lundanes leading.
Bertuks looks happy at finish
Tranchand with some hesitation in CP area
Meanwhile Olav Lundanes and Gustav Bergman starting strongly....
Jubelis through arena. Looks thirsty ...
Lundanes at start!
Bertuks at arena passage. Looks strong!
Dauit stuck in nowhere
Not the best example from Bertuks...
Chambers checking every single path?
News from press conference - Tove has changed her tactics for today - more run with compass in direction, less try to read map. And that was a success!
Rain is here, so now it's even more harder now for boys.
And now, to the mens race. Yury Tambasov leading after 7km. You can find map of mens course at our webpage.
Tove looking impressive so far, but, sorry, girls, first step of podium is already taken
Dambe to East again
Athlete from China finishing
Alm with mistake to CP1. Not the best way to start....
Now, girls are mostly taken straight road to CP 5, Inga Dambe choses go to East.
First girl in finish!
This took some time...
Some radical route choices to CP10 as well
Girls passing arena... Not looking very fresh ...
Arena filled up with fans, first runners will pass arena quite soon.
Now some of first athletes are at the area, where they have been at the relay.
Let's start with some map checking - marshes - on place, road on place, now it's time to first CP
And, by the way, live Tv is for free!
Live TV is on, go to https://liveorienteering.com/#/live?id=5460
Yes, lot of route choices
Yu Lam choses to run where GPS signal is stronger
Looks like we will have a great #WOC2018 Long - women's course is out and first women are in the forest! Check out the course and some interesting legs here. And try to "run" the course virtually under time pressure in this RunningWild https://t.co/SAgSDOQqNr - and then enjoy! pic.twitter.com/70ZyCCEKCR— WorldofO.com (@worldofo) August 11, 2018
After relatively easy start, leg 4 - 5 will bring some more fun
Looks like pack with Rodrigues leading to the road at the East side from CP and then will attack CP5 from CP 6?
Come to arena, we have live Tv on:
First girls starting challenging leg 4-5. Hopely we will have lot of route choices there...
Live TV for today forecasted from 12:00 to 18:00 (local time)
Seems like finding first CP is not so easy for some of first participants.
If we take a look at the maps(published at our web page), athletes will have challenging long leg (girls 4-5)
First girls are already at the forest. GPS is available at https://liveorienteering.com/#/live?id=5460
