MIDDLE DISTANCE

17:53

That's all for today, see you at Relay!

17:48

I would give a medal to this man, he is a hero! (2:18:26 (+1:45:27))

17:44

17:17

Eskil Kinneberg!

17:11

Florian Howald?

17:04

Let's draw a circle with my GPS device!

16:58

No, CP is in the circle, not where numbers are drawn on the map

16:44

Bergman started with small mistake to CP1. Or big mistake?

16:42

Shcherbakov?

16:30

16:21

No, CP1 is not there, Tove already checked....

15:53

Finding something in woods is never easy.  Try yourself!

15:49

No other man took this route to 7th yet

15:46

And here comes a mistake from Robinson.

15:40

Tim Robertson - impressive start

15:33

River Gauja at place? Check!

15:30

Bertuks leading Bedoy Obano to the mistake?

15:22

Actually, Live Tv is working, just without speakers.

15:18

So, I believe live TV will be back at 18:00, to decisive moments of Men's race.

15:12

Let's check if CP2 is still at that place?

15:06

This is area, where no woman has been today...  Some new CP for men`s course.

15:03

The first controls cause problems also for men.

14:58

14:56

Christoph Prunsche - first man at finish.

14:54

14:47

Can I start again?

14:45

Congratulations, Natalia Gemperle!

14:43

Do we know who is gonna win today? Yes, I believe...

14:40

...

14:28

Did they give Tove's GPS to another person?

14:23

and again...

14:21

Tove with mistake on 1st....

14:17

This is interesting pack

14:14

First boys are at the forest

14:09

Sara Hagstrom - great perfomance!

14:01

New leader at finish at finish - Caroline Gjotterup, Denmark

13:58

This area is very tricky

13:34

Mistake, so close to the  finish...

13:12

Live TV has started. I was wrong before with broadcasting times.

13:09

Hm...

12:55

This is even more radical route to first CP. But, safe for sure.

12:50

Well, this looks strange, hope she (Moriai) did not get  injured.

12:46

Yea, rihght, no problems:

12:44

Seems like there are no problems for athletes with CP 3-4-5-6 so far. Alison Crocker at the finish - 41:24

12:40

This mistake  is going to take some time...

12:38

The pedestrian bridge, athletes are crosig, is hanging in cable ropes:

12:34

Some of the athletes already crosed the river and Alison Crocker is close to arena.

12:32

CP 1 creates most of the fun so far. Might be because  it`s close to start and runners do not have enough time to adapt to map/terrain.

12:29

Alison Crocker, USA, leader at radio CP nr. 2. Some packs of runners formed already at a distance.

12:20

But, seams, she did not see the control.. ;(

12:19

Christie Courtnage taking different road choice to CP1 from others ...

12:10

So far looks like girls are attacking first CP straight, through small ravine

12:08

If we take a look at the GPS, there are some action allready going on. Terrain is tricky, and visibility is not very good.

12:02

11:56

worldofo.com predicts that winners will be Olav Lundanes and Tove Alexandersson. Probably, we each have their own favorites, but no doubt,  Tove looks in great shape.

11:50

11:48

At the competition are we will have forests of various types. Many leaf trees in the flood-lands next to the river, slowing down the running speed. Height difference 75 m
Terrain form: hilly area
Runability: From very good to hard. Runability reduced because of vegetation and deciduous trees.
Visibility: Mostly poor because of dense vegetation.
